Truss Bracing

Purpose of Drawing

Bracing trusses is a critical part post frame construction. Trusses spaced further apart require more bracing. There are several components to bracing trusses:

• Roof Purlins (applied to top chord continuous full length typically 24" on center)
• Lateral Bracing (applied to bottom chord full length ... see truss drawing for spacing)
• Continuous web bracing (unless the truss is too short... see truss drawing for your application)
• Diagonal bracing of web braces
• Cross bracing (used where door openings in walls occur)
• Wind bracing required by engineer in some areas
