Pole Barn Footer Calculator

Post Spacing (feet)
Roof Span (feet)
(1)Truss Load (PSF)
(2)Soil Bearing Capacity (psf)
Footer Width (inches)
Footer Depth (inches)

(1) This is the combination of the top chord live load and top chord dead load on the truss drawing.

(2) Typically between 1500 psf and 3000 psf. 1500 is really poor soil and 2000-3000 is typical. Without a soil test you don't know your true bearing capacity. Typically engineers use 1500 - 2000 without soil tests to be conservative. See this page to help identify your soil bearing capacity. Use this page to calculate concrete requirements.
